Developing Trainer/Assessor - London/Kent

What you’ll do

We are recruiting for current and future opportunities within the training centre to become a trainer assessor – enhance your career prospects and develop & support the next generation of train drivers. 

To be considered for this role, you need to have full competence in Train Driving, be on a current Driver roster & have knowledge of at least 1 SE Trains Route

Main Responsibilities

You will have a number of key responsibilities in this role that will include but not be limited to:

  • Delivering training and support to trainee train drivers, ensuring these colleagues have the knowledge and skills and helping to develop the relevant experience to become competent train drivers. 
  • You will offer support, coaching and guidance in all aspects of the role, using your own experience to facilitate their learning.  One of the requirements to becoming a certified train driver is that the trainee will need to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours that are aligned to the apprenticeship standard, and you will be expected to guide trainees in this area.
  • Working within the training team you will support your colleagues in the delivery of all aspects of training, ensuring that our company values and behaviours are role modelled and held up as exemplary performance.

The experience you’ll need

We are looking for applications from Train Driver’s, preferably with experience of training/coaching others (although all necessary qualifications/training will be given).

You should be motivational and enthusiastic in your approach and be keen to share your experience and expertise that will help to develop the knowledge and skills of the next generation of Train Drivers.

To excel in your role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • You should be competent in the duties of a train driver, have a good recent safety record with at least 2 years driving experience.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.
  • Customer focussed to deliver a high quality service
  • A friendly and respectful personality
