What you’ll do

This is an excellent opportunity to join the recruitment and assessment team and to play a pivotal role in the recruitment and selection of staff across the business, but with a focus on the Passenger Services division. This will include the recruitment for a range of station staff positions as well as supporting in the recruitment of other customer facing roles such as Conductors and Revenue and Enforcement.

This is a full 360 recruitment role, where you will be responsible for advertising roles, screening candidates, running assessment centres, arranging interviews and medicals, conducting all pre-employment checks and issuing contracts.

When required you may also find yourself on interview panels or attending recruitment events such as career fairs or recruitment days with our partnered charities.

Where will I work?

The role will be working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with at least 2 of these days being office-based in our brand-new Career and Skills Hub based a 5 minute walk from Ashford International Train Station.

Are you highly organised and a confident individual who is able to work under your own initiative and to tight deadlines? Do you have the confidence to present to large groups of people and are you able to influence colleagues of all levels, including that of senior management?

The experience you’ll need

To be considered for this role we you need to demonstrate the below in your application;

  • Must have experience of working within a 360-recruitment role, dealing with high volumes of vacancies
  • Must have experience of using recruitment ATS systems
  • Must have experience of working to tight deadlines and the ability to work well under pressure with little supervision, prioritising appropriately and pro-actively.
  • Must be able to work independently and achieve individual goals, coupled with excellent team working skills and flexibility in approach to work.
  • Must have a good awareness of the broader impact of potentially sensitive information and the ability to deal with it appropriately and responsibly.
  • Be a member of or be willing to become a member of the Register of the British Psychological Society’s Qualifications in Test Use (RQTU).
  • Be able to critically evaluate behaviours and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to demonstrate best practice and legislation relating to Recruitment & Assessment techniques.
  • Have or be willing to learn the required knowledge of Home Office guidelines for preventing illegal working.
  • Have exceptional high standard of communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, including managers, to explain complex information.
