Role Responsibility
What you’ll do
As a member of the Ticket Office, you will actively promote and sell Southeastern and other businesses’ products in a positive and professional manner by protecting existing revenue and generating new business.
You will provide a professional service to passengers by delivering excellent customer service whilst selling the full range of tickets, ensuring you are actively contributing to a positive retail environment and taking account for revenues received.
Main Responsibilities
You will have a number of duties and responsibilities in this role that will include (but not be limited to):
- Ensuring the retail sales point is presented in a safe, clean and attractive manner whilst maximising marketing and promotional opportunities which fulfil retail standards and complies with the current Company marketing plan and other publications.
- Providing pro-active sales and information service to passengers, complying with our obligations under the Ticketing and Settlement Agreement.
- Advising on, promoting and selling to passengers the full range of ticket products, rail travel services, special promotional packages and associated travel services, complying with the Ticketing & Settlement Agreement.
- Recording and preparing daily accounts ensuring compliance to cash and security regulations.
- Communicating effectively with other staff and passengers in the interests of safety and customer service using information systems as supplied.
- Using a range of computer systems and programmes such as Word and Excel.
- Carrying out other general station duties as required.
The Ideal Candidate
The experience you’ll need
To be successful for this role, you need to demonstrate the below in your application:
- Excellent Customer Service skills/experience
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Good standard of numeracy and accuracy
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
- Experience of cash handling is essential
- A pro-active ‘can do’ attitude
- Basic IT skills with the ability to use and be taught a range of different software and programs such as Excel and Word
