Training Operations Manager - Secondment up to August 2025

What you’ll do

At Southeastern we are mid-way through our busiest recruitment and training year in recent times (possibly ever). 

A similar level of demand will exist for the next 18 months (and possibly longer). Therefore, the successful candidate will need to hit the ground running and undertake all aspects of the role.  

There will of course be lots to do and achieve, but there are four strategic areas of focus that you will guide and lead the team on:

  1. Maximising the effectiveness of our training offering (particularly for those newly appointed) to ensure the demands of the business are met.
  2. Cross team approach to involve all of TAD into everything training produces and delivers.
  3. Enhance and encompass our digital training to maximise the training experience.
  4. Work across all stakeholders and the wider industry to share insight and maximise opportunities for Southeastern and training team.

The experience you’ll need

To be shortlisted and selected for this role you will need to demonstrate the below;

  • Experience of managing teams, budgets and plans to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of the various railway training standards and expectations 
  • Have created, developed and implemented a pipeline of training courses (or demonstrate an equivalent level of programme management / scheduling)
  • Demonstrate stakeholder management, including examples of challenging stakeholders and providing alternative solutions
  • Modernised your work e.g. developed training courses, or your team structure/way of working or business processes
  • Embraced modern learning techniques such as digital and online.

The selection process will involve a short presentation that relates on points 1-4.  Further information will be shared with those that are shortlisted.
