Trespass Reduction Ambassadors (Volunteering Opportunities)

Job Introduction

We are seeking colleagues to become volunteer Trespass Reduction Ambassadors across the network

Southeastern’s Safeguarding Team is dedicated to ensuring the safety of all our people and passengers. Our mission is to help make sure everyone gets home safe every day. We believe that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

We are seeking influential volunteers to join our mission and support our work to reduce trespass across the network alongside their current roles.

Become a Trespass Reduction Ambassador and play a crucial role in our safeguarding team. If you are dedicated, empathetic, and eager to make a difference, we encourage you to apply. This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in a team dedicated to the well-being of vulnerable people that use our network and to support colleagues in dealing with incidents of trespass.

If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please contact Collette Windsor, Trespass and Suicide Reduction Manager for more details on how to get involved.

Help us ensure everyone gets home safe every day by becoming a champion for trespass in our community.

The role of a volunteer Trespass Reduction Ambassador includes:

  • Raising Awareness: Promoting reporting through the EIS App and champion the use of Op Safer and Body Work Video among peers.
  • Engagement and Support: Attend locations following trespass reports to develop an awareness of environmental issues at particular stations that may offer an opportunity for ongoing trespass and to record this and report to the Trespass and Suicide Reduction Manager.
  • Education and Training: Support the Youth Safety Managers to educate young people about the dangers of trespass.
  • Outreach and Event Participation: Support and participate in Safeguarding outreach events to raise awareness of the dangers of trespass at our stations and onboard our trains
  • Be alert to trends regarding trespass and work with the TSRM to develop and support initiatives to address concerns either linked to specific locations or to behaviours that increase the likelihood of trespass (such as increased alcohol use, concerns for welfare or ASB).
